Questions Partners Ask

You can register through the Yendrop Vendor App/Portal. The process is designed to be straightforward: create your account, submit your business profile, and complete verification. After approval, you’ll set up your catalogue/menu and operating hours, then go live and start receiving orders.

  • Create a vendor account (business name, contact person, phone/email)
  • Submit business details (category, description, address/landmark, and payout method)
  • Add store location(s) and pickup instructions (e.g., “Ask for the cashier”, floor/house number, landmark)
  • Upload your menu or product catalogue (names, clear descriptions, prices, and availability)
  • Complete verification (ID and other required checks). Approval timelines vary by category and completeness of information.
  • Finish onboarding (short training, store hours, packaging readiness). Once activated, you can accept live orders.

Go-live checklist: confirm your pickup point, keep your phone/device online during business hours, ensure packaging materials are available, and verify your prices/stock so you can fulfil orders without delay.

Yendrop generally recognises two vendor classes:

Individual Vendor: A person selling on Yendrop without business registration documents accepted by Yendrop (e.g., personal sellers, side hustlers, informal traders, student sellers, casual resellers of approved items).

Business Vendor: A seller operating with valid business registration documents accepted by Yendrop (e.g., registered shops, brands, enterprises, restaurants, pharmacies, and other formal commercial sellers).

The main difference is business registration and formal verification. Business Vendors may qualify for broader category access, higher limits, and fuller storefront tools. Individual Vendors may have lighter onboarding but may face tighter restrictions in higher-risk categories and transactions.

Yendrop’s pricing to vendors typically includes a platform commission and may include optional paid features. Charges can depend on your category, location, plan, promotional participation, and applicable third-party payment or transfer costs.

  • Commission: a percentage taken from each completed order for platform access, operational coordination, and related services
  • Transfer charges: payouts are processed per recipient, and mobile money or bank transfer fees may apply for each separate payout.

Exact rates and applicable charges are shared during onboarding or in the relevant vendor policy. Vendors can usually view deductions, adjustments, payout records, and net earnings per completed order in the dashboard or settlement statement.

Yendrop uses a collect-then-payout model through a licensed third-party payment service provider. Customers pay through the approved payment service provider, funds are settled to Yendrop’s payment service provider account or balance after the applicable settlement period, and Yendrop then instructs separate payouts to vendors using the provider’s transfer infrastructure.

  • Mobile Money payouts, subject to provider availability, verification, and applicable transfer charges
  • Bank transfer payouts, subject to provider availability, verification, and applicable transfer charges

Payouts may be on-demand or scheduled daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or according to Yendrop’s applicable payout policy. Payouts can only be made from funds that have settled and are available for transfer. Your dashboard provides payout records showing completed orders, fees, refunds or adjustments (if any), and net earnings. If a payout fails, for example because of incorrect Mobile Money or bank details, it may be retried after you update and verify your details.

Important compliance note: Vendor earnings shown in the dashboard are accounting and payout records only. Yendrop does not provide wallets, stored balances, escrow accounts, or customer fund custody accounts for vendors or riders, and no displayed amount should be treated as money held by Yendrop on behalf of a vendor or rider.

Yes. Vendors fully control:

  • Product prices
  • Promo prices
  • Stock availability
  • Seasonal adjustments

Tip: Keep prices and stock accurate to avoid cancellations and complaints. If you sell the same items in-store, your online pricing must match in-store pricing.
